Parental Influence

Parents

Many parents in the 60’s were clueless about why their kids were so rebellious. They had given their kids everything that they could ask for and yet they still wanted more. These kids wanted something more. Something outside the confines of the the white suburbs they grew up in. Their parents had lived in the conservative 50's, the dream life, but their kids saw that as conformity.

College

College was the great awakening for most kids in the 60’s. The freedom of college allowed these kids to do whatever they saw fit. If there was ever a time for kids to rebel it was at college. This choice to rebel was not solely with drugs, but with their voice in political issues as well.
